Travel Sentry Marks Fourth Year Sponsoring Tmall's Luggage Super Category Day
Travel Sentry sponsored Tmall's Luggage Super Category Day for the fourth consecutive year on August 3, 2026, bringing 12 Chinese and international luggage brands together in Shantou, China, to highlight the Travel Sentry TSA lock as a mark of trusted, travel-ready luggage.
Brands who took part in the 2026 campaign included TUMI, DELSEY, Crash Baggage, ECHOLAC, ITO, Diplomat, CECE, Ninetygo, KALA-Y, Hanke, DTA and Dream Traveler.

What happened at the Shantou event?
On August 3, 2026, Travel Sentry partnered with Tmall, China's leading e-commerce platform, to host the offline component of Tmall's Luggage Super Category Day in Shantou, Guangdong. The event, themed "Unbox the New World and Wherever You Go, You Are Travel Sentried," brought together 12 luggage brands from China and abroad alongside Travel Sentry's own exhibition space. The main messaging was that suitcases may change in shape, material and design over the years, but the wish for a loved one's safe travels never changes. That is part of Travel Sentry’s DNA and ongoing brand promise: securing peace of mind for travelers around the world, one lock at a time.
Travel Sentry COO Tim Meade, Tmall's luggage category lead Yun Ran, Shantou Tourism Investment General Manager Cui Xiangyu and representatives from each participating brand opened the event together on stage.

Centered around the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Pavilion at the heart of Xiaogongyuan, the exhibition area, featuring all 12 partner brands alongside Travel Sentry's own display, was organized into three themed zones:
- Ultra-Lightweight Travel
- Tech-Enabled Travel
- Fashion & Trend

Xiaogongyuan is one of Shantou's most popular historic districts and it was incredibly busy on the event day. For the 12 participating brands, that elevated the sponsorship from being purely a B2B closed event like in previous years: it was also a significant consumer-facing brand awareness opportunity, putting each brand's name and products in front of a large volume of residents and visiting tourists passing through the district.
Programming throughout the day included a musical performance and a performance by the Shantou Dongchi Yingge Troupe, a traditional Chaoshan folk art form. At the southwest entrance to the district, a 3D screen played a continuous loop of event highlights and brand visuals, drawing crowds throughout the day.
